As Hoagard, we would like to introduce and honor 5 amazing women that has left an indelible impression on the world with their artworks.

The architect who makes everything possible: Zaha Hadid
Zaha Hadid is an Iraqi architect who is well-known for everybody interested in architecture and interior design. She is best remembered for those words: “There are 360 degrees, so why stick to one?” Hadid actually reveals with this sentence that she knows no boundaries when it comes to her sense of design. It is also the reason why she is known as the “architecture of the impossible” by some societies. Although most architects and engineers find her works “unbuildable”, Zaha Hadid combines math, art and architecture; apply some curves and waves on them and finally creates futuristic forms. Throughout her career, she is deemed worthy of several awards including Pritzker Architecture Prize which can be seen as the Oscar of architecture world.

The Oldest Punk Queen: Vivienne Westwood
English punk queen Vivienne Westwood is definitely the best anti-hero of all times in the fashion world. As she never pays attention to existing fashion trends and imposed sense of beauty or common aesthetic concerns, Westwood keeps on displaying 70’s English punk culture on podiums. She is best known for her unusual designs with neon colors and different fabrics. Of course, it is not a coincidence that she chooses unordinary people like Marilyn Manson, Lady Gaga and Kate Moss for her campaigns.
The Young Genius Who Combines Science with Design
43-year-old Neri Oxman is not only a scientist, she is also a designer and architecture. She is currently lecturing at MIT as a professor. Oxman has combined material science and product design and has 43 international awards including “Cultural Leader” Award from World Economic Forum. Her works are displayed in several prestigious museums like MoMa, Mori Art Museum Tokyo and Design Museum London. As she was selected as the most important woman of the year in engineering and design, her face was projected on the ceiling of Grand Central Station in New York.

In a word, “Icon”: Iris Apfel
There is so much to say about 97-year-old style icon Iris Apfel! Thanks to the documentation “Iris” on Netflix, more and more people get to know her nowadays. The superpower of the colorful lady is to combine art history, interior design, of which she is an expert, and fashion collection together. Apfel has collected numerous different clothes, accessories and jewels from all around the world and now she has a unique fashion collection. She also carried interior design and restoration works in the White House for 9 different presidents. In a nutshell, she is the “living history”.

It is fair to say that Annie Leibovitz is the master of photograph in Hollywood. After working for Rolling Stone Magazine, she worked for Vanity Fair and photographed several celebrities like Mick Jagger, John Lennon & Yoko Ono; Demi Moore, Julia Roberts and many others. The most important characteristic of Leibovitz is that she features the most natural poses of the celebrities. Now she teaches photography online on Masterclass courses and seen as one of best portrait photographers of the world.
